Free Melanoma Screening
January 13, 2012: We will be hosting our annual screening Friday, May 11th from 10:00 till 2:00. The screening is free, and patients are seen on a first come, first serve basis.
Supporting A Great Cause
October 27, 2010: Several Staff recently participated in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in Hickory, NC. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped support a great cause!
ALS Walk A Huge Success
April 19, 2010: Our ALS fund-raising walk in Winston-Salem was great fun and very successful. We had a fantastic turnout and the Boone Dermatology crew raised over $3000 for a worthy charity. In fact, the walkers took home the reward for most money raised by a corporate team! A big thank you to all of those who helped out! Let's do it even bigger and better next year!
ALS Walk 2010
March 15, 2010: Several staff members will again be taking part in the ALS Walk in Winston Salem on April 17th. This is our third year participating and so far this year, our team (Westphal's Warriors), has raised over $1000.00 for the cause.

February 24, 2010: Dr. Brett Summey authored a chapter in the latest edition of the dermatology reference book Treatment of Skin Disease: Comprehensive Therapeutic Strategies published this year.
Staff raises $1,700 for Melanoma cause
January 21, 2010: Boone Dermatology Clinic staff has raised over $1,700 for Melanoma awareness in the Riverfront Race Festival on January 16th in North Charleston, SC. Congratulations to all who participated in helping the fight against Melanoma.
Riverfront Race Festival for Melanoma
October 21, 2009: Several office staff members will also be participating in the Riverfront Race Festival on January 16th in North Charleston, SC. This event features 5K, 10K and half marathon run/walks and is a benefit for ARTS in the Chas County schools. If running isn't your bag, there will also be bicycle races of 30 and 62 miles on January 17th! In addition, the Boone Dermatology team will be raising money for melanoma awareness and all proceeds will be donated to the Melanoma Research Foundation. Staff raises $1500 for ALS Research
October 19, 2009: BDC hosted a yard sale on 10/10/09 and raised over $1500! All proceeds were generously donated to support research for ALS, which is a neurodegenerative disease also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. In addition, office staff will be participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS in Winston-Salem on 4/17/10.
